I gained a couple of new Sole Sisters today – Cathy from our church, and her sister Carol (whose family is my final host home for this trek).

They were ‘christened’ by a cloudy, damp day – not too bad though. There was light drizzle much of the time, but only about one mile where it came down hard enough that I put on my poncho. No need for sunscreen!
The route was really scenic – often right along beach paths, but also through the village of Carlsbad. Here’s where we started at Oceanside Harbor:
We thoroughly enjoyed the day, and topped it off with a burger at Inn-N-Out – ‘animal style’!
