My Mission

Hi!

My name is Laura Robinson, and on February 29, 2016 I started a 1700-mile trek along the Pacific Coast from the Canadian border to the Mexican border.  This endeavor will mean 3 things to me personally… 1) It will be a way to challenge myself physically; 2) It will be the culmination of a dream that I shared with my mother since I was a little girl; and 3) It will be a spiritual journey that will draw me closer to the Lord – I look forward to ‘stretching’ my faith and learning to trust in Him more fully with every step I take.

That being said, I want this to be done for a purpose greater than myself. The catalyst was a series of sermons at our church (Hope Chapel Foursquare Church in Hermosa Beach) emphasizing support for our worldwide missions. As my husband and I discussed the impact this trek could have for the benefit of our missions, we realized that it doesn’t have to be solely for that purpose.  I’ll only do this once in my life, so I want it to count for as much good as possible, not only for our church, but for a number of other faith-based non-profits close to my heart – and for (hopefully) hundreds of churches on or near my route… including some who are giving me much-needed logistical help!

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” ~ John Wesley

Jesus sent the apostles out with instructions in Matthew 10:11… “In whatever town or village you enter, search there for a worthy home and ask to stay there until you leave.” I look forward to meeting hundreds of people I’ll be spending eternity with – and I can’t wait to see what God will do!

Will you consider being a Sole Mate? 😀

      • Laura it was amazing having the opportunity to meet you the other day and hear all about your mission. We found your passion inspiring. We would love to invite you back to stay a weekend when your journey ends on us. We’d absolutely love to see you again and hear about the adventure and what blessings you came across on your trek.

We are still blown away that of all the places you could have stopped you found a friendly door that was familiar with Hope Chapel. God brought you to our door steps and blessed us both.

        Luke 4:10

We hope to hear from you in the near future and will continue to follow your journey!

  1. Hi John – it’s great to hear from you! Thank you so much for all your help, and for pointing me in the right direction. The new bike did great yesterday, even though I only walked it alongside me, (haha). I still marvel at the turn of events, and I’ve told the story so many times already. I do hope to come back with my husband before too long so he can share in some of the places I visited and meet some of ‘my people’. If you ever find yourselves in the L.A. area, we’d love to see you! I used Luke 4:10 as my signature verse in my post today… 🙂
