L.A. County Line to Trancas Canyon

I passed the 1500-mile mark today! I’m a day-and-a half ahead, and I thought I’d be giving much of that back today – but not. The rain played itself out in the morning, so I had enough daylight to get 7 miles in this afternoon. No bus here, so Larry joined me to  help with transportation.

Church Spotlight: Coast Life Church – Coos Bay, OR

Larry dropped me off at the start then parked at the end and met me in the middle. Those 7 miles got me to the northernmost bus stop in L.A. County. I’ve officially crossed the county line and entered Malibu. It was a cloudy but rain-free day through a lovely area, replete with a flock of squawking green parrots in the trees above – there’s surely a story there somewhere…

There’s a group of people from my church family walking with me on Saturday & Sunday so I need to make it to Will Rogers State Beach by the end of the day Friday. I have 19 miles to go and 3 days to make it happen. Lots of rain predicted, but so far I’ve been able to dodge the raindrops. If I have to walk in the rain, no problem – this dry and weary land appreciates every drop!

Tomorrow’s weather looks better in the late morning/afternoon, so I’m gonna give it a go. My left hip and lower back feel tight and strained for some reason, so please keep that in your prayers!

  1. Lord, please watch over Ms. Laura, keep her safe and help her aches get healed so she’s ready and in great shape when her church family joins her this weekend! In Jesus’ name.

    • Thank you! I’m hanging in there – nothing’s 100% right now, but at the same time it’s easily tolerable. Just an annoyance… ‘see you on Sunday!
