Carmel Highlands to Milepost 60

Everything went great today for Shani’s first day of walking with me, and also for our shuttle from Shelley – thanks SO much! The day started out really foggy, but quickly cleared up to sunshine.  If today is any indication, we’re in for 5 days of beautiful scenery. (Though possibly some rain Wednesday.)

Spotlights This Week:
Always: Hope Chapel Missions
Charity Spotlight: Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
Church Spotlight: Harvestlands Foursquare Church – Salinas, CA

2 days ago I turned from Rio Road onto Highway 1, then passed a sign that showed narrow, curvy roads for the next 74 miles – I realized that I’m going to be on this highway with NO alternate routes until I get to Cambria, several walking weeks from now.

After we walked, Shani & I had lunch with a view at Rocky Point Restaurant, then (because of fog), we changed our minds about taking scenic 17-Mile Drive and took a stroll at Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey instead. With ice cream!
