The first mile and the last mile today were the most interesting as I walked through the towns of Watsonville, Pajaro and Moss Landing. The other 8 miles were on the highway with fast-moving traffic. Good shoulder (mostly), but it was noisy and not very relaxing.
There wasn’t much to ‘write home’ about, but I did get to watch about a dozen otters bobbing in the water at Moss Landing State Park. It’s interesting that whenever one of them catches something to eat, he magically acquires a greedy seagull drafting along behind him – certainly hoping to make a steal.
I’ve encountered a lot of different animal-crossing signs – the Otter Xing is yet another that I’d never seen before!
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. ~ Matthew 11:28-30
