I’m getting a late start tonight, so I’ll make it short! I don’t normally walk on Sundays, but because there were 4.5 miles of Pedestrians-Prohibited freeway between Scotia and the north end of Avenue of the Giants, I decided to knock those miles our today after church so that Tina and I can just put our feet on autopilot and enjoy the journey through the redwoods tomorrow.
I needed the bike for those miles today, both for freeway legalities and as my shuttle vehicle – but when I unloaded it I discovered that the back tire was totally flat! So I loaded it back up, drove to the gas station and filled it. Then I prayed it would hold up for the task at hand… long story short – it did!
Doing this today makes things a lot easier (and more fun) for the rest of the week.
As I passed the burn area from the fire of a few days ago, there were still numerous firefighters mopping up. When you see the damage it did, it’s all the more impressive that they were able to contain it!
Oh… and I had it confirmed today from 2 sources that the horses and bulls in that idyllic pasture yesterday DO belong to a prominent rodeo stock company. 🙂
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. – Psalm 62:5
