ALGER TO MT VERNON
I said goodbye to Diana, Alida & Ron and their beautiful home this morning. My next overnights will be in Oak Harbor (on Whidbey Island). Once again, I had the luxury today of full support – Ken drove the car and my ‘sole sister’ Joann walked with me.
We started where I ended yesterday – Skagit Speedway. Many thanks to the RV Park manager Jim for letting me park! Thanks also to his black labs Hoss & Little Joe for a much needed ‘fur fix’!
The walk was uneventful today – from farmland to urban, and the miles went by pretty fast as Joann & I chatted. The weather was chilly & cloudy, but NO RAIN – and it really was great for walking, though we did need our hoods up much of the time to keep our ears warm.
About halfway through, we ran into one of the locals:
After the walk, I slowly made my way to Oak Harbor, doing some sightseeing along the way. In one area, I came around a curve and saw a field that was absolutely FULL of snow geese. Thousands of them!
Scripture: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” ~ Isaiah 40:31
