The terrorist attack in our own SoCal backyard has been overwhelming, and our hearts & prayers go out to the families of those who lost their lives – and for the wounded for complete healing.
Just one short week ago was another tragedy, this one in Colorado Springs. We recently learned that one of the lives taken was an elder & guitarist at one of our sister churches, Hope Chapel Colorado Springs. Garrett Swasey was a University of Colorado campus officer, a young father of 2, and a former Junior US Champion pairs figure skater. He didn’t have to go, but he drove 10 miles to help – and laid down his life to try to help fellow officers and save the lives of those trapped in the Planned Parenthood clinic.
When I first saw his picture on the news, my first thought was, “He looks like a sweet, kind man”. Now I’m sure of it…
He was laid to rest today, and is now singing with his Savior.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” ~ John 15:13
